SLS Myanmar Dedicates First Mission Center in Southeast Asia, Marking a Milestone for Medical Evangelism

On May 19, 2025, Saint Luke Society (SLS) Myanmar held a meaningful Dedication Service for its newly established mission center in North Okkalapa Township, Yangon. This center is not only a significant development for Myanmar, but also a historic milestone—it is the first SLS mission center to be opened in the Southeast Asia (SEA) region.

The service was a time of heartfelt thanksgiving and renewed commitment to the vision of bringing healing and salvation to medical professionals and students. Leader Juesphin delivered the main message, drawing from Psalm 127:1 and Luke 10:33–34, emphasizing the need for God’s guidance at every step of the mission:

“Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.”

This powerful reminder anchored the service in the faith and humility that characterize the SLS mission. The gathering also served as a moment to reflect on the journey that led to the center’s opening—marked by perseverance in prayer, the steadfast support of pastors and ministers, and many logistical challenges that were overcome by God’s grace.

Strategically located just two minutes away from the University of Medicine in Yangon, the center offers an ideal base for focused medical evangelism. Its proximity to medical universities and training institutions makes it a key hub for outreach to future healthcare professionals.

Previously, SLS Myanmar’s mission activities were dispersed across three cities—Mandalay, Myitkyina, and Taunggyi. With the establishment of the Yangon center, activities will now be centralized, and mission staff will be relocated to strengthen unified efforts.

Looking ahead, SLS Myanmar plans to expand its outreach through both online and onsite evangelism, with a special focus on raising the next generation of leaders in the medical field.

As the first mission center of Saint Luke Society in Southeast Asia, this newly dedicated space represents not just a physical location but a pioneering spiritual outpost. SLS prays that it will become a precious vessel where many souls will find truth, healing, and rest.
