SLS 3-Day Medical Mission in the Tuburan, Philippines

Saint Luke Society’s medical mission: Project Healing Hands is currently serving the local community in collaboration with the Government of the Philippines, the Municipal office of Tuburan, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Cebu Technological University (CTU), organizations, and local hospitals.

The mission trip commenced with Sunday Service led by Pastor Samuel Chang, preaching the word in the scripture of Mark 12: 28-34, emphasizing the greatest commandment of God, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no commandment greater than these.”

In the 3 days of the medical mission, free medical procedures and treatments were given to the locals. An estimate of 2,000 participants per day joined the event including adult and children. The medical mission consists of free consultations, general treatment for the basic and common disease, dental treatment, nerve and muscle acupuncture and the give away for free medicines.

Furthermore, the medical team was warmly welcomed by the government and the people of Tuburan. A hosted celebration such as traditional dances was prepared by the locals, the staffs and doctors of SLS gave thanks for these preparations.

Saint Luke Society hopes to achieve a new era of mission to be born from the gathering of medical doctors and workers not only in the Philippines but also to be spread upon the other countries all over the world.
